Choosing the right swimsuit for your body can be difficult, but the goal is to create a visual balance. It is important to know what your body type is so it’s easier for you to show off your best assets. This is especially true when it comes to picking out swim wear.

Apple

You have an apple-shaped body if you’re fuller in the tummy and waist area and you have rounded shoulders with a fuller bust.
Ranecia Jefferson has on a black and gold striped one-piece suit with thicker straps. The thick straps help hold the bust up and the black slims the body. Coverups are also always fun.
Accessories: Black short coverup and round, hippie, colored glasses with signature necklace
Suggestion: Wear a swimsuit with underwire to help hold up the bust

Column

You have a column body shape if you you have narrower shoulders and hips and a smaller waist and chest.
Melanie Thomas has on a two-piece, light, solid-color swimsuit with ruffles on the top. The two piece is always great for a column body because it makes the body look curvier.
Accessories: Silver crystal choker with silver earrings
Suggestion: Wear a two-piece suit with solid colors.

Hourglass

You have an hourglass-shaped body if you have an overall defined waist. If you are a full hourglass you have a full bust, a smaller waist, and rounded bottom and hips.
Karleigh Perry has on a pink and white one-piece swimsuit with the waist cut out to show off the best asset of the hour glass.
Accessories: Matching crystal body and arm chain with short white coverup
Suggestion: If you are a full hourglass, wear a swimsuit with underwire to support your fuller bust showing off your defined waist.

Inverted Triangle

You have an inverted-triangle-shaped body if your bottom half is smaller than your top half and you have broader shoulders with little definition between your waist and hips.
Brittany Osborne is wearing a black, one-piece suit with details emphasized on the waist. This kind of swimsuit gives the illusion of having a more defined waist.
Accessories: Gold Body Chain
Suggestion: Wear a swimsuit with hip details

pear body

Pear

You have a pear-shaped body if you’re fuller in your hips or your thighs and your shoulders tend to be narrower than your hips.
Camillya Taylor is wearing a black one-piece swimsuit with an off-the-shoulder, ruffled top. This swimsuit works great with her pear shape because the off-the-shoulder ruffle makes the shoulders look broader and creates a visual balance.
Accessories: Thick gold choker and long tassel earrings with black sunglasses and a black bottom cover up

pear body

Danya Woodlin is sporting a one-piece, strapless swimsuit with leopard printing on the top and solid black on the bottom. This is great for her pear shape because the detailing is on the top and creates a visual balance.
Accessories: Silver chain necklace and black sunglasses
Suggestion: Wear a swimsuit with detailing above the waist
